Visual Arts
P.S. 58 strives to provide all students with instruction in visual art. Students in grade pre-K through 6 receive visual arts instruction on a weekly basis from both full-time school-based arts teachers and their classroom teachers. The 7 elements of art or building blocks of art are: color, line, shape, texture, space, form and value. Understanding these elements allows for students to create and appreciate art. In 2019, P.S. 58 made its debut at the Queens Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art! Art was featured in special exhibits that showcased the best work from young artists across New York City. You can also find art pieces showcased on bulletin boards around the building throughout the year. |
